The Associate of Science Degree in Management Information Systems is concerned with the development, systems design, and programming skills that will enable graduates to function effectively in a variety of entry-level positions; or to matriculate into the bachelor’s degree programme. The objectives of this programme are to produce students who can:

Programme Goals

The Associate Degree in Management Information Systems offers a blend of business-related courses and computer science courses that are designed to prepare students for a variety of entry-level positions in a high-paced and ever-growing field in information systems and technology. It was designed to develop students’ analytical, communication, and programming skills, so that they may add value to organizations by using and infusing new and emerging ICTs (Information and Communications Technology/s) at different levels of operation in any organization. The philosophy adopted in the design of this programme focuses on preparing students to use ICTs to meet the strategic needs of organizations.

Matriculation Requirements:

An applicant MUST have a minimum of five (5) passes in subjects at CSEC or GCE O’ Level including English ‘A’/English Language and Mathematics.

Duration:

Full Time: Two (2) years with four (4) semesters
Part-Time Two (2) years with six (6) semesters i.e. two (2) summer semesters
